Australian team Mitchelton withdrew because several team members tested positive for the corona virus on Tuesday before the start of stage 10 at Lanciano. Mitchelton’s team also includes Britain’s Simon Yates, who left the Giro on Saturday after a positive test.

In addition, two riders from two other teams, including Dutchman Steven Kruijswijk (Jumbo), third in the 2019 Tour de France, also tested positive on the rest day and had to withdraw from the race. This was announced by the World Association (UCI) and the Jumbo Team.

The UCI, which did not reveal the names of those involved, released the results of Monday’s 571 tests: two riders (one from Jumbo and one from Sunweb) and six supervisors (four from Mitchelton, one from AG2R La Mondiale and one from of Ineos). it tested positive. The doctors of the respective teams then ordered the isolation measures.
