Mobilization before the election: Trump now fully trusts angry voters

Just two weeks before the US election date, Donald Trump’s calendar is full: The president moves from state to state, appearing in front of his supporters several times a day.

The polls for him may be shaky, but Trump is entering the election campaign with enthusiasm. Their mood fluctuates between optimism and pessimism, anger and sometimes anger appear as the basic constant. No one is safe from his impulses: Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton are “criminals”, the journalists of the CNN news channel “bitches”.

Smart as a fox?

America’s top immunologist, Anthony Fauci, is also angry with the president: The government adviser “is not a team player,” he and other scientists are “idiots,” according to Trump.

On Tuesday, CNN commentator Dana Bash tried to find out the president’s aggressive behavior amid rising corona infections. If he’s “not smart as a fox,” Trump’s strategy doesn’t make sense. Bash believes his tirades alienate even more voters.

Maybe not: Trump’s path to reelection has narrowed, but he’s still open. The extra votes you need to win in November can hardly be found among women, the elderly, and educated voters. These are more likely to be men without a college degree, a large reservoir that the president intends to exploit as efficiently as possible in the final days before the decision. Trump is particularly attractive to white men, but he is also trying to win over African American and Hispanic men.

“I’m not scared, I’m mainly angry,” Trump said Monday.

Trump’s party has registered more new voters than Democrats in some states, and many of these new voters are apparently men with no additional education. They can be found in large numbers at Trump events, many of which have never voted before or only sporadically.

Now the president is trying to do it with his final energetic push. “I’m not scared, I’m mostly angry,” he said Monday before the flight to Arizona, an important state of transition.

Trump’s anger and his rejection of the Crown’s proclamations by scientists like Anthony Fauci could be particularly well received by the target group of moderately educated men: as in 2016, here is someone who is fed up with the establishment in Washington and he can’t do anything with an intellectual egghead.

Male with contempt

If Trump is re-elected on November 3, contrary to most forecasts, his electoral victory could be due to the mobilization of voters who, like the president, give nothing to Dr. Fauci and the teachings of the experts. Dana Bash’s question as to what the president is aiming at with his aggressive tone would have been answered, and Trump would have been fox-smart.
