Migros is ready to open all stores next Monday, says Migros chief Fabrice Zumbrunnen. Don’t expect a big rush.
(agl) Customers would have to rediscover the joy of shopping first, says Zumbrunnen in an interview with “Blick.” This may take some time. However, there was a rush after the garden centers opened: “We have never seen such a good week in Migros history,” said Zumbrunnen. Sales have doubled, but this cannot offset losses in the past two months.
Despite everything, Zumbrunnen expects “solid results” overall. Even if the Migros Group faces great difficulties in some business areas, it will not have losses. “The individual areas, like the hotel map, will slide to red,” said the head of Migros in front of “Blick.”
There will be no price increases due to increased security measures in stores, “definitely not,” says Zumbrunnen.
