In an interview, David Beckham talks about his efforts to attract soccer’s big names to MLS at Inter Miami.
David Beckham continues to think of signing world stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi or Neymar for his MLS club, Inter Miami. Last but not least, the former England international is confident in the city’s appeal.
Discussions about the high-profile trio had “been there from the beginning,” Beckham said in an interview with ESPN. For players, the question of whether they wanted to come to Miami after the end of their European careers “is honestly not that difficult” to answer: the city attracts players “who were stars in Europe.”
Old fellow assumes a coaching position
Beckham is a co-owner of Inter Miami. The club played its first season in MLS last year. For this, Miami had signed Gonzalo Higuaín and Blaise Matuidi, among others. However, the team failed in the first playoff round.
For the next season, which begins in mid-April, Beckham has already hired an old ManUnited friend as a new coach, Phil Neville.
