Menowin Fröhlich (33) has been battling his inner demons for years. Despite two seizures and an impending prison sentence, the former second “DSDS” was unable to overcome his addiction to cocaine and alcohol. Now it should work. The singer went to the rehab clinic for the third time. He is accompanied by a television crew for the program “Menowin – My Demon and Me”. There it could be seen that his marriage with his wife Senay Ak (30), with whom he has two children, is in crisis.
Fröhlich sees the blame for this not only in himself. “When things got really tough, she just dropped out of it,” says Fröhlich. That became clear to him during the retreat. “When it really mattered, he was alone.” He blames himself for his drug affairs. At the same time, however, she discovers that Ak would also have to admit mistakes: “She just doesn’t accept it.” According to the spokesperson for the broadcast, Fröhlich believes that his wife “must finally give up her role as a poor and tolerant victim.”
“He had hallucinations from drugs”
But when Ak talks about her experiences with her husband, it’s hard to see the guilt in her. “He was extreme for a year, he had drug hallucinations.” Happy saw people who weren’t there. “And in those moments I thought very often about quitting.” When Fröhlich noticed that his wife was withdrawing more and more, he was very hurt. “At some point you started to take a different path. That broke the trust between us ”, accuses the 30-year-old.
Senay Ak wants to continue supporting her husband
Ak emphasizes in the program that she will continue to support her husband. Especially since the current withdrawal is currently very successful. Fröhlich has not used drugs or alcohol for two months. He also lost 18 kilograms at the clinic. “Never forget that I love you. You are part of my life,” Ak writes to her husband.
How things will continue with Fröhlich’s fight against his addiction will no longer be shown on television. The singer has canceled the filming of his program, as reported by “RTL”. But not because he relapsed again. Instead, he was admitted to a psychiatric facility after the addiction clinic. There he wants to continue his way to a normal life, without a camera. (klm)
