Loïc Meillard has just lost his second podium in a World Cup slalom. In the second race at Flachau, Romand finished fourth as the best of another good Swiss team. Luca Aerni is sixth.

Norwegian Sebastian Foss-Solevaag, who was already leading after the first heat, celebrated his first World Cup victory against Austrian Marco Schwarz and Frenchman Alexis Pinturault.

Meillard was ranked higher than he had been since his only slalom podium, second place two years ago at Saalbach. Luca Aerni also became very strong again. Compared to Saturday, the Bernese improved two places and, thanks to his sixth place, he became the fifth Swiss slalom rider to meet the criteria for the World Cup in Cortina d’Ampezzo.

Ramon Zenhäusern was in the top ten and was ninth as a third Swiss. Daniel Yule, however, has not yet been able to put aside his uncertainty as he expected. He had to be modest with 22nd place, two places behind his teammate Marc Rochat.
