In the Meilen district court, the trial sentences for an alleged murder commissioned by a 73-year-old doctor in Küsnacht will be announced today. Three people are charged, including his own daughter.
The now 47-year-old daughter is said to have hired a 37-year-old friend to kill her mother in August 2016. He is said to have promised her 300,000 francs for it and provided her with information and the key to the villa.
The 37-year-old man is said to have suffocated the older woman on her bed and stole valuables, money and bank cards. A 31-year-old man is said to have been present at the crime. Its role is unclear. He fled abroad after being released from pretrial detention at the behest of the federal court in 2019.
Defendant rejects all blame
All the defendants are Swiss. The prosecutor demands convictions for murder or incitement to murder, and for men also for robbery and other crimes. For the daughter, the alleged client, the prosecution demanded a prison sentence of 18.5 years. The alleged murderer will be punished with 19.5 years in prison, the 31-year-old alleged accomplice with 15.5 years.
The defendant denied all the allegations at trial. His defense lawyers asked for acquittal. Just because of some minor offenses committed by the 37-year-old man, a maximum of eight months is appropriate for this. The man had long since sat down.
The main hearing before the Meilen District Court took place in June. The court later ordered that the woman be released because there were no further grounds for the arrest. The 37-year-old, on the other hand, runs the risk of running away. He’s still in security custody. (SDA)
