The canton of Aargau is serious about fighting the crown pandemic. And it goes beyond the Federal Council. The new rules apply from midnight on Sunday. Then gatherings of people are allowed in public spaces with a maximum of five people. Stores are no longer allowed. Only grocery stores, pharmacies and drugstores remain open.
According to the decision of the governing council, food markets outdoors or in non-enclosed spaces are also excluded. Florists and service providers such as hairdressers, physiotherapy clinics and the like are also open.
Imminent hospital overload
All pubs, bars and clubs must also close on Sundays. Brothels and erotic establishments cannot receive clients either. Cinemas, theaters and sports and leisure facilities will be closed.
The reason for the harsh intervention is the continuous increase in the number of infections and the threat of overloading the health system, the governing council announced after an extraordinary meeting on Friday night. The stricter measures are necessary to protect the health of the population, Landammann Markus Dieth said in a conference call. (pbe)
