Health Minister Alain Berset proposed three packages of measures to the cantons on Sunday. The Federal Council should decide on this on December 28, when the effect of the most recent resolutions can be measured (read more about Berset’s contingency plans). But the pressure on the state government is mounting to sharpen on Friday, and to close restaurants, for example.

The numbers are increasing again

“The number of cases is increasing again, there has been a change in trend in the negative direction”: this is how Patrick Mathys from the Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) summed up the situation at a press conference on Tuesday. Hospital admissions and deaths continue to decline slightly, but with a delay, these values ​​are likely to rise again soon, from a high level.
