On Tuesday night, October 20, 2020, between 5:45 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., an alleged attempted kidnapping of a child took place on the Wartenbergstrasse in Pratteln. An unknown perpetrator tried to drag a girl into a vehicle, as the canton police in Basel-Landschaft wrote in a message.
According to what we know so far, the 8-year-old was on the Wartenbergstrasse when a small gray car approached her. When the vehicle was level, an unknown man tried to grab the boy by the arm.

However, the victim was able to flee. The alleged perpetrator then ran after the girl in the direction of Gempenstrasse. When a third unknown person became aware of the situation, the man walked away in the direction of Muttenzerstrasse.
The police are now looking for a man between 175 cm and 180 cm in height. The wanted man has brown hair and a three-day beard.
