- The Federal Council today decided that any subsequent pension payments to magistrates are limited to five years.
- Furthermore, the subsequent payment of pensions will be completely excluded in the future.
- Former Federal Councilor Christoph Blocher will receive his claimed pension retroactively for a period of five years.
Until the new regulation is available, the Federal Council intends to pay pensions for a maximum of five years retroactively if the corresponding request is made. The 80-year-old former Justice Minister and billionaire Blocher is now profiting from this.
The Federal Council explains that the law and the ordinance do not contain any provision in the event of a subsequent claim for a pension. Because current law is silent on this issue, the legal position is a matter of interpretation.
Blocher now receives 1,125 instead of 2.7 million
Since he was not reelected in 2007, former SVP Federal Councilor Christoph Blocher had waived his retirement pension. However, in July 2020 he made an additional claim for 2.7 million francs. With an annual retirement pension of 225,000 francs, Blocher now receives 1,125,000 francs.
