Federer insisted on congratulating the Mallorcan for this milestone. As their biggest rival for many years, both of them would have become better players. “That is why it is a great honor for me to congratulate him on his 20th Grand Slam title,” wrote the Basel bidder on social media.

Rafael Nadal spoke at the press conference after winning the final in Paris about matching Federer’s mark. I didn’t want the record to be too important. “Of course I would like to end my career as the one who has won the most Grand Slam tournaments,” said the Spaniard.
