Luis Suárez and the bite in the naturalization test – authorities investigate

Luis Suarez of FC Barcelona is said to have cheated on an Italian test in Perugia last week. After irregularities emerged during the test, Italian authorities said investigations began on Tuesday.

According to this, the 33-year-old Uruguayan is said to have discussed the content of the exam with the professors before the exam at the University for Foreigners. The Perugia prosecutor announced that Suárez’s score had already been determined before the test began.

Several documents were confiscated from the university premises on Tuesday. The investigation will be carried out against the rector and the general director of the university, but not against Suárez himself, the language test that the striker took is a prerequisite to acquire Italian citizenship.

The transfer to Juve is off the table

Suárez had probably tried it due to the option to move to Juventus in Turin, since the Serie A club had already assigned its two positions to non-EU foreigners. Suárez’s wife, Sofia Balbi, is the daughter of an Italian who emigrated to Uruguay. De Suárez initially had no comment on the allegations.

Meanwhile, Juventus signed Spanish striker Álvaro Morata on Tuesday. Suárez, with whom the new Barcelona coach, Ronald Koeman, is no longer planning, is under discussion at Atlético de Madrid. (ram / sda / dpa)
