Canton of Lucerne
Lucerne’s cultural lands initiatives are clearly rejected +++ A yes to the counterproposal.
Should undeveloped cultivated land be better protected? The two initiatives had no chance. However, the counterproposal was barely approved by the electorate.
This is how your community voted
Lucerne voters reject the cantonal constitutional initiative “Lucerne Cultural Landscape” with a clear no of 67.74 percent. The corresponding legislative initiative did not have a chance either. Non-participation here is a clear 67.6 percent.
The result is different with the counterattack: it reaches a very narrow majority with a yes percentage of 50.41. Therefore, the proposal was adopted.
The city of Lucerne clearly said yes to the counterproposal with 56.03 percent. The two popular initiatives “The cultural landscape of Lucerne” at the constitutional and legal level, on the other hand, were clearly rejected with 67.74 percent and 67.6 percent respectively.
As for the key issue, which is no longer relevant, the alternative proposal was clearly ahead. The turnout was just under 44 percent.
The constitutional initiative aims to ensure that land is used more economically and urban expansion is curbed. The second initiative aims to implement the requirements at the legal level. Consequently, for example, crop rotation areas would have to be clearly entered in municipal zoning plans. The agricultural areas are as large as possible and the areas of crop rotation are basically completely conserved. With the counterproposal, the government wants to weaken the demands of the legislative initiative.
