Lucerne Police Released Bus App Tuesday – Here’s How It Works

As of September 1, parking buses can be paid for with a smartphone or computer in the canton of Lucerne. That makes it easier not only for those fined, but also for the Lucerne police: 48 days of work can be saved.

As of September 1, for example, parking violators will no longer receive a pay slip, but a slip with a QR code to scan.

As of today, the first parking violators will no longer find a pay slip on the windshield, but a sheet of waterproof paper with a so-called QR code. The square code consisting of pixels can be photographed with a smartphone. The driver is then referred to a Lucerne police portal. After entering the license plate number, the bus can be paid directly with Twint or with all major credit cards. If you do not have a smartphone, you can go to bussen.polizei.lu.ch on your home computer, enter the fine on the QR code sheet, and then proceed in the same way as the smartphone user.
