Following failed qualifying, the Emmentaler showed a strong reaction with fifth place in the Moto2 race.
On Saturday Tom Lüthi was a bitter disappointment in qualifying for the Le Mans GP with 14th place. In the race, the Bernese showed a different face, quickly regaining positions and improving to fifth. It was no longer possible since he was too far behind the drivers who were classified in front of him. Lüthi thus tied his best result of the season.
Jake Dixon was unlucky. The Briton advanced from position 8 and led for a long time. However, on lap 20, the race ended for him after a crash. Another Briton won with Sam Lowes ahead of Australian Remy Gardner and Italian Marco Bezzecchi.
World Cup leader Luca Marini was able to start despite his crash on Friday, but was left without points. However, the Italian was able to defend the overall lead.
MotoGP: Petrucci with his second win – Quartararo defeated
Danilo Petrucci claimed the second victory of his career at Le Mans. The Italian, who started third on the grid, won ahead of Spaniards Alex Márquez and Pol Espargaró. Petrucci is already the seventh winner of the current MotoGP season.
Fabio Quartararo suffered a setback. The French World Championship leader, who started from pole, fell behind immediately after the start. Due to problems with his motorcycle, it was enough for him to place himself in ninth place, but in the World Championship classification Quartararo defended his advantage anyway.
Moto3: Dupasquier in 17th place
Jason Duspaquier achieved his best result of the season in the Moto3 race. Due to the many accidents of the best cyclists, Freiburg placed 17th place. Previously, three 19th places had been their best results. Dupasquier was less than 1.5 seconds behind 15th place, which would have earned him his first career point at the World Championship. Italian Celestino Vietti secured victory.
