Among the seven fatalities found in the Norwegian landslide so far is a two-year-old girl. The responsible police announced the names of four other people who had died late Sunday night, in addition to the girl born in 2018, her 40-year-old father, as well as one 54 and one 29.
Bjørn-Ivar Grymyr Jansen and his daughter Alma were only able to recover dead. The whole family may have died in the disaster: the fate of Charlot Grymyr Jansen (31) is still unclear. The mother was pregnant with the second child.
Police had previously released the identity of the first discovered death victim, a 31-year-old man. This identifies five of the seven victims found so far.
Saviors don’t lose hope
The violent landslide in Ask in the municipality of Gjerdrum some 40 kilometers northeast of Oslo occurred in the early morning of December 30. As a result, ten people disappeared. So far, seven dead have been found in the disaster area several hundred meters long and wide.
The search for the rest of the missing continues unabated on Monday. Police said in the morning that they believe the rescue operation will continue to find survivors. (SDA)
