The electorate has spoken. It has become clear since noon Sunday that Kathrin Mancuso will be moving into Steckborn City Hall as a replacement for the resigned Gregor Rominger. The 44-year-old intensive care specialist, editor and mother got 506 out of 868 valid votes. The participation is 38.44 percent.

In the first ballot in late September, Mancuso won by far the best result of five candidates at the time, with a total of 412 votes. She drew her candidacy alone with Jack Rietiker, who came in second (271 votes), in the second ballot to enter the city council. The last three finishers, Sandra Marolf, Judith Kern and Moritz Eggenberger, however, dropped out of the race.

With the electoral victory of Kathrin Mancuso, Jack Rietiker returned to occupy the second place in the second ballot. Although he obtained 332 more votes than in the first ballot, he is eliminated as a surplus candidate.

Steckborn’s city council, usually seven members, is not yet complete. Since the resignation of the city vice president, Michaela Dähler, earlier this week, the electorate decided another replacement election on January 10, 2021. A possible second ballot for the second replacement election would take place on January 31 January 2021. To date, no candidates are known. Nominations for the elections can be sent to the City Chancellery before November 16.
