There are violent complaints against Carlo Mosca (47), chief physician of the Montichiari hospital. He is said to have deliberately killed two corona patients in the Italian province of Brescia in March. The chief physician is said to have administered fatal drugs to them. Now he has been arrested.
One victim was 61 years old and died on March 20. The other deceased was 80 years old and passed away on March 22. According to prosecutors, Carlo Mosca administered the drugs propofol and sucinylcholine. They are narcotic and neuromuscular blocking drugs. They are typically used just prior to sedation and intubation of a patient.
However, the patients were neither sedated nor intubated. Furthermore, the drugs were not recorded in the victims’ medical files. The judge said according to “Il Messaggero”: It must be assumed that Mosca did not administer the mentioned drugs out of carelessness, carelessness or inexcusable inexperience, but with full awareness of his behavior and with the will to kill ”.
“Because he wants to make some beds for free”
The investigation was triggered by a complaint from a hospital nurse. Particularly stressful for the chief physician: a talk by two employees. “I am not willing to kill patients just because he wants to free some beds”, was one of the messages that a nurse wrote to a colleague via WhatsApp.
Meanwhile, the chief physician and the head of the emergency department have been suspended from their duties. Mosca defends himself and lets his lawyers communicate: “I deny having administered these drugs.” The investigation continues, the doctor is under house arrest. (euc)
