England: defender Gómez is out for a long time
As feared, Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has to do without defender Joe Gomez for longer. The 23-year-old had a successful knee operation on Thursday and will miss a “significant portion” of the rest of the season, the “Reds” announced. Gomez suffered a tendon injury in his left knee while training with the England team. For Klopp, this compounds personal problems defensively.
