Spain: Suárez moves to the capital
Atlético de Madrid announced the signing of Uruguayan star forward Luis Suárez from FC Barcelona late Wednesday night after his transfer to Juventus failed. According to Barcelona, the transfer fee for the 33-year-old is 6 million euros. Suárez no longer played an important role in the plans of the new Barça coach, Ronald Koeman. In the 2015/16 season, Suárez, who moved from Liverpool to Barcelona in the summer of 2014, was the top scorer in the Spanish championship with 40 goals. He scored 16 more times last season.
