Spain: Bua finds a new club
Kevin Bua moves to CD Leganés in the 2nd Spanish division. The 27-year-old winger signed a contract with the First Division relegated for one season with an option for 2 more years. Bua played 19 Superliga matches (4 goals and 6 assists) for FC Basel last season, which he gave up free after his contract expired. For Genevans with Spanish roots, it is the first stop abroad.
Spain: Calligaris leaves with a broken wrist
Swiss national player Viola Calligaris will likely be absent from her club Levante at the start of the season on October 4. The 24-year-old central defender broke his wrist on Friday in Europe’s tie against Croatia (1-1). Calligaris traveled with the team back to Switzerland on Saturday, where they will be operated on in the next few days. She suffered the injury after nearly 70 minutes when she fell on her wrist while defending herself and had to be replaced by severe pain.
England: Liverpool die to Diogo Jota
Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Diogo Jota will move to Liverpool FC, according to his former manager, Nuno Espirito Santo. Up to 49 million euros are being discussed as a transfer for the 23-year-old. The Portuguese international played 131 times for the Wolves (44 goals / 19 assists). Jota will receive a contract at Liverpool until 2025.
