An intensified ticket inspection by the Zurich public transport company was heard on Friday at the Zurich District Court. On the dock sat evader Samir * (23) and three inspectors who are said to have beaten him green and blue in the summer of 2018. The 23-year-old “victim” is anything but an innocent lamb: the rate evader punched one of the inspectors in the face.
The Swiss-Egyptian got into a control in Zurich-Wipkingen without a ticket. “I was intimidated by the controllers,” Samir said in court. The “fucking controller” insult fell, then the situation got out of hand.
Did you stand up to the rate evader?
A controller (47) pushed him, says Samir. The inspector denies it, one thing is certain: the young man hit, hit the 47-year-old VBZ employee in the face. “I still have thickening on my lip today,” he explained.
The other inspectors grabbed the evader and took him down to the bus station. He couldn’t breathe, Samir said in court. The inspector met then stood in front of him and said, “Look what you did.” Then the VBZ man kicked the dodger in the face hard. In addition, according to the indictment, the inspector attacked a passerby who was filming the bleak scenes.
All the defendants appeared before the judge as victims. The kick controller complained, “This case made my life more difficult.” In his memory, he kicked the fare dodger, but only in the arm. “I couldn’t feel my face after the hit. I’m a bit vain, I thought I was disfigured, ”said the VBZ man. Everything was full of blood.
The black driver should be behind bars, absolutely!
The unemployed evader has already compiled several criminal records and has to answer for theft and an argument with police officers. “It’s part of my past,” he said and apologized. At that time he was using drugs, today he is clean and is training to be a diving instructor in Egypt.
The prosecutor did not remove the purification from the young man. Due to the criminal record, he should go to jail: 21.5 months! The kicking controller faces a 20-month suspended prison sentence for attempted serious bodily harm. The other two inspectors only kept the evader on the ground and must be acquitted.
A verdict has not yet been delivered, the hearing will continue on December 18.
