It wasn’t until Monday that it became known that the Capuchin monastery of Schwyz had been heavily affected by the corona virus. A sister died as a result of Corona, the messenger continues. According to managing director Thomas Thali, there have been no new infections at the Ingenbohl monastery in recent days. According to Thali, most of the sisters are now fine again.
“Although we have had a concept of crown protection since spring, which we are constantly implementing, we are also affected,” Provincial Superior Tobia Rütimann said at the request of the messenger. A total of 280 sisters live on the hill above Ingenbohl. In 50 infected sisters, more than one in five was affected. According to the provincial superior, the average age of the sisters is 81 years. The care of all the sick sisters, with the exception of one person in the hospital, was carried out in the monastery itself, the messenger writes in Wednesday’s edition.
