The canton of Bern will continuously activate 90,000 vaccination appointments over the next few days. This means that 45,000 people can register for a first and a second appointment.
As of now, in addition to the previously approved groups, people between the ages of 65 and 74 are now also approved for vaccination (group C), the Bern Health Department announced. Vaccination groups A (75 years and older) and B (people with higher risk chronic diseases without age restriction), which were previously approved for vaccination, will continue to be approved for vaccination. People in vaccination group B must be able to show a medical certificate at the vaccination appointment if they are under 65 years of age.
Anyone who hasn’t received it yet receives a letter
All people in group A who have registered by phone and have not yet received a vaccination appointment will receive a letter from the canton of Bern. They are offered an appointment at a vaccination center. The Directorate of Health, Social Affairs and Integration wants to ensure that the group of registered citizens aged 75 and over is fully vaccinated.
There is a change in mobile vaccination teams. So far, they have vaccinated people at home who, despite the help, have not been able to go to a vaccination center. The kits are now used for other purposes, such as vaccines in companies or in remote locations.
