The starting signal for the 2020/21 alpine ski season will be given on Saturday with the women’s giant slalom on the Rettenbach glacier in Sölden.

The first round will be opened by the Swiss Wendy Holdener. They are followed by the Italian Marta Bassino and the world champion Petra Vlhova. Along with last year’s winner Alice Robinson (start number 5) and World Cup winner Federica Brignone (6), the Slovakian is one of the favorites. As is known, Mikaela Shiffrin had to forego an outing at the Rettenbachferner due to a back injury.

By the way, Sofia Goggia with the number 16 will leave the starting house as the 3rd Azzurra. There is no South Tyrol in Sölden. The first round is scheduled for 10 am, then the decision will be made at 1 pm
