The event took place on Sunday around 4.30 pm on Zürcherstrasse, corner of Froburgstrasse, in Basel. The 50-year-old man who was waiting there was suddenly yelled at by a stranger and asked him to give him his jacket. On it was an emblem with crossed arms and muscular imprinted.
As the prosecutor’s office in Basel-Stadt confirms to VIEW, this is the logo of the United Tribuns, a rock band. At the moment there is no evidence that the 50-year-old is a member of this group.
“Hells Angels” lettering on the back
The previously unknown perpetrator pushed the 50-year-old man to the ground during the attack and hit him with a baton. Then two more strangers appeared, together they ripped off the victim’s jacket. According to the prosecutor, two of the three perpetrators wore jackets with the words “Hells Angels” on the back. The victim was taken to the emergency room by a police patrol.
After the fact, the three unknown men fled in a gray Mercedes in the direction of the St. Alban facility. So far, an immediate manhunt was unsuccessful. The Basel-Stadt canton prosecutor is now looking for witnesses. (SDA / bra)
