The number of new infections reported daily has reached four digits and has increased rapidly. That worries the cantonal health directors. “The situation is unstable”, says Lukas Engelberger (45), president of the Conference of Directors of Health (GDK).
The high number of cases showed that the pandemic was “present and dynamic.” After assessing the situation, the GDK now renews its recommendations for the particularly affected cantons: extension of the mask requirement and upper limit for private events.
Close clubs if necessary
Therefore, the cantons find a particularly high number of infections at private events. Therefore, the GDK recommends the personal limit and, if necessary, the closure of nightclubs and discos. In addition, there is an identification requirement.
The GDK is silent on public events. Since the beginning of October, the Federal Council has also allowed large events with more than 1,000 people. But if these are also approved, it is in the power of the cantons. The message only says: “The cantons are in a better position to assess what measures are appropriate based on the respective situation.” (gbl)
