Markus Jegerlehner took the famous photo of the Swissair pilot in Rio in 2001. He has now received the prestigious order to photograph the Federal Council.
Markus Jegerlehner’s photo studio sits directly under the roof of his home in Langenthal. One step through the study door and Guy Parmelin, laughing, looks at you from a frame. The photograph gives an idea of how Langenthaler got his biggest order to date – this time he took the new Federal Council photo, which is always published at the end of the year.
It all started in the 1980s: Jegerlehner, grew up in Melchnau, trained as a farmer in Emmental and later wanted to dedicate himself to viticulture. So at the age of 19 he went to an estate with vineyards in Bursins in the canton of Vaud and ended up with the Parmelin family. There he helped in the stable, read grapes, or trained at the local soccer club with his two sons, including Guy Parmelin.
