“He doesn’t belong in the ring, but in the box”: Former Circus Royal director Oliver Skreinig returns on tour a few months after his conviction

According to various media outlets, the former Circus Royal director Oliver Skreinig is on tour in Switzerland again. From Friday he will be a guest at the Ticino Picard Circus in Winterthur and will take on the role of circus presenter. Meanwhile, the police are supposed to make inquiries because the place was booked under a false name.

(nat) Only three months ago, Circus Royal director Oliver Skreinig was found guilty by the Kreuzlingen district court on various charges, mainly mismanagement. The court ordered twelve months in prison, six of them unconditional, as well as the prohibition of working as a circus organ for four years. The verdict is not yet legally binding.

Now Skreinig should be on tour again, that is, with the Ticino Picard circus, as the Winterthurer newspaper reports. He will be a guest in Winterthur from Friday and will assume the role of moderator. Due to Corona, currently only 50 instead of 780 guests are allowed in the marquee. “The financial hole is covered by sponsors. We also hope to be able to play in front of more people for Christmas again, ”says Circus Picard founder Davide Trentini to the newspaper.

“Picard” is said to have reserved space under a false name – police are investigating

Apparently, the police are also involved in the matter, because it is said that the Picard circus reserved the place under the name “Circo Medrano”, but this circus no longer exists. An informant, who does not want to be called by his name, told the Winterthurer Zeitung:

“Everything works with Oliver Skreinig’s manure, he does not belong in the ring, but in the box.”

Since last June, Skreinig has been looking for 20 artists, office staff and dancers on the website of a recruitment agency under the pseudonym Robi Duss and under “Circus Royal GmbH”. However, it is unclear if they were destined for the Picard circus or if the former Circus Royal director is looking for staff for a new circus.
