(pd / brother) The Thurgau prosecutor’s office brought charges against the Frauenfeld district court in connection with the murder committed in Frauenfeld on October 16, 2018. The Thurgau prosecutor announced this in a statement on Friday.

According to the indictment, the 19-year-old defendant at the time of the crime is charged with strangling his 74-year-old grandmother until she passed out on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at her place of residence in Frauenfeld. The defendant then wielded a paring knife and stabbed her unconscious grandmother once in the chest, leading to her death. The defendant then beheaded his grandmother, stuffed his head in a backpack and left the crime scene.

According to the Public Ministry, other crimes such as deprivation of liberty and assault, as well as crimes against the Arms Law and the Narcotics Law are the object of the accusation. However, these accusations are not directly related to the homicide.

15 years of national expulsion

The forensic-psychiatric report, which was prepared on behalf of the Public Ministry, shows that at the time of the homicide the defendant could not see due to a serious mental disorder and that, therefore, he was not responsible. According to the statement, it is not possible to punish the homicide. However, the prosecutor requested a hospital therapeutic measure and an expulsion from the country for the 15-year-old Italian.
