After the mad race at Monza, the next GP at the “Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello” was also a show. In the end, Hamilton wins ahead of his teammate Bottas. Eight conductors are eliminated.

The Mercedes duo beat the competition at the Mugello Grand Prix premiere, which was marked by three incidents. Lewis Hamilton wins ahead of Valtteri Bottas.

The chaos continued with Formula 1 from Monza to Mugello. The race at the Autodromo Internazionale had to be neutralized by the safety car three times, and after two interruptions there was a restart.

Hamilton and Bottas had their way in all three incidents. The English and the Finn achieved victory at their own level. Hamilton, who originally started from the beginning and had lost the lead to Bottas in the first outing, regained first position on the second attempt and remained safe despite the necessary second restart. Alexander Albon finished third at Red Bull. The Thai driver got his first podium in Formula 1.

Hamilton was greeted first for the sixth time this year. With his 90th victory in Formula 1, he expanded his leadership position in the general classification. His advantage over Bottas, second classified, is 55 points.

Raikkonen shoots Verstappen

Kimi Räikkönen in the other Alfa Romeo finished eighth, but is in ninth place in the ranking. The Finn received five seconds of driving time due to a non-compliant entry into the pit lane. Raikkonen earned his first two championship points this season.

Max Verstappen also participated in the turbulent first phase of the race. The Red Bull Dutchman didn’t even get a lap. Verstappen, who had backtracked at the start due to limited engine power, was rammed by Raikkonen from behind and thus went off the track. The incident was triggered by a collision between Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean at Haas and Pierre Gasly at AlphaTauri. For the Frenchman, who unexpectedly won a Grand Prix at Monza a week ago as the first Frenchman in 24 years, the race was also over.

Race canceled twice

The safety car had barely left the track when it crashed again. Antonio Giovinazzi in the Alfa Romeo, Kevin Magnussen in the Haas, Carlos Sainz in the McLaren and Nicholas Latifi in the Williams participated. After that, the workday for the quartet ended. To clean up the junkyard, the race was stopped for the first time and, as at Monza, restarted with a stopped start. Due to Esteban Ocon being forced to give up in the Renault due to overheating of the brakes, at the moment there were 13 drivers left.

The second accident after three-quarters of the distance caused Lance Stroll at Racing Point. The Canadian, who had finished third, violently hit the barrier due to the explosion of the right rear tire.
