Michelle Gisin took the podium in the giant slalom in Slovenia for the second time in 24 hours. Lara Gut-Behrami turns 4 years old.

Michelle Gisin was also able to shine in the second giant slalom at Kranjska Gora. For the second time in less than 24 hours, Engelberg’s wife took the podium; previously he had missed the podium in 23 World Cup races in this discipline.
Gisin, who was in 3rd position at halftime, approached the last pass with a good deal of self-confidence. On the slope, which was even colder than the day before, the 27-year-old found the perfect balance between risk and caution. With that, Gisin celebrated his fifth podium this winter, fourteenth overall at the World Cup.
Like Saturday, Marta Bassino was the fastest. The Italian triumphed for the fourth time in the fifth giant slalom of the current season. Halftime leader Mikaela Shiffrin took a weak second run and was returned to sixth place.
The podium was completed by local hero Meta Hrovat, who only took the podium for the second time in his career after taking third place at Lenzerheide in January 2018.

Lara Gut-Behrami confirmed her impressive consistency by reaching the top 10 for the fifth time in the fifth giant slalom of the season. Fourth place is also his best result in this discipline since January 24, 2017 (fourth place at Kronplatz).
After her Blitz flop on Saturday, Wendy Holdener made an impressive comeback on Sunday. The woman from Schwyz, who has never been in the top 20 in 4 giant slaloms this winter, was especially involved in the final and took eighth place.
Like Saturday, Corinne Suter did not finish her first race. Camille Rast, Mélanie Meillard and Priska Nufer also did not qualify for the decision.

The next women’s giant slalom is scheduled for January 26 at Kronplatz (ITA). The speed specialists will duel January 22-24 (2 races, 1 Super-G) at Crans-Montana.
