Greece does not allow Moria migrants to leave the country after Brand

After the devastating fire in the Moria refugee camp on Lesbos, there is a growing demand in European countries to accept migrants. Only Germany wants to take in about 1,700 of the 12,500 residents of the camp who have lost their last belongings. Switzerland has agreed to accept 20 children and adolescents and has local help.

For some Swiss cities, that is not enough. Basel, Bern, Zurich, Lucerne, Winterthur ZH, Geneva, Lausanne VD and St. Gallen are calling on the federal government to “do more.” The help offered by the city of Bern, which wants to welcome 20 immigrants directly, is very specific.
