Google donated a superior camera with OIS to Pixel 4a

Three weeks before the likely market launch, the first Google Pixel 4a camera test goes online and reveals a bit more about the camera.

To date, Google hasn’t officially released the Pixel 4a, but the first copies have been in strange hands for months. Now a YouTube channel has released its first camera test, because the folks at TecnoLike Plus own an early copy of Pixel 4a. A few months ago, a more or less complete test report of the Pixel 4a was released online.

Optical image stabilization at less than 400 euros, otherwise a rarity

This new camera test report shows that Google has once again given the Pixel 4a’s main camera a truly superior camera. Among other things, it means that the main 12 MP sensor (Sony IMX363) benefits from optical image stabilization. Google also installs a Sony camera sensor on the front. Also on board are night vision, portraiture, Super Res zoom and astrophotography.

Finally, typical pixel photos come from the camera, only the second zoom camera of the large Pixel 4 is not installed on the 4a.

Those who are more interested can see the photos in full quality here. Among XDA colleagues, night photos are considered stronger than, say, the Galaxy S20 +, which would be a sign of poverty for Samsung. According to previous information, Google is planning the Pixel 4a for May, but an official announcement is still missing.
