All travelers arriving in Germany by plane must undergo a corona test before departure. This applies regardless of whether the holiday country is considered a crown risk area.
To postpone the start to Sunday, it was said that travelers and airlines would have to be able to adjust to the new regulations. Therefore, the necessary regulation should be published on Friday. On Thursday afternoon, however, the cabinet’s decision was still pending.
The regulation should initially apply until mid-May.
So far, only one test is required for people returning from risk areas. In the future, all air travelers will be affected, including vacationers from Mallorca, for example. There is an exception for aircraft crews. The regulation should initially apply until mid-May.
According to the plans of the Ministry of Health, the test must be carried out at least 48 hours before entering Germany. Travelers must bear the costs themselves. Airlines can only allow passengers to board if they present a negative test. Those who are positive must be quarantined in the country of travel in accordance with applicable regulations; usually he or she must bear the costs himself. (AFP)
