Shortly before 2 pm, a company on the Terrassenweg in Zug received an anonymous bomb threat by phone. About a dozen people had to leave the residential and commercial building as a precaution, Zug tax authorities reported. During the search of the property in question, explosives detection dogs from the Zurich Cantonal Police and specialists from the Zurich Forensic Institute were used. No suspicious items were found. Then the building was released again.

In the course of the investigation, a suspect was arrested in Germany overnight. This is a 50 year old German citizen. The arrest was successful just hours after the phone threat, thanks to intensive investigations and cooperation with the German police and the Zug canton prosecutor.

The background to the threat, which ultimately turned out to be a false alarm, is still unclear. The investigation continues. During the police operation Industriestrasse and Terrassenweg were closed. (szm)
