The NHL mourns the loss of Colby Cave. The 25-year-old from the Edmonton Oilers organization died of a cerebral hemorrhage.
Colby Cave had a brain hemorrhage earlier in the week, after which he was put into an artificial coma on Tuesday. In emergency surgery, doctors tried to save the 25-year-old’s life.
Cave died of internal bleeding on Saturday. A message from his wife Emily circulated on Twitter, in which he thanked her for his sympathy.
Although Cave’s cerebral hemorrhage was not associated with Covid disease 19, his relatives were fatal to the coronavirus pandemic. Due to hygiene regulations, it was not possible to visit Colby in the hospital room. “We were able to talk to him through a walkie-talkie,” Colby’s wife wrote on Instagram on Tuesday.
Haas teammates
Altogether, Cave made 67 NHL games with Boston and Edmonton. In the current season he ran 11 times for the Oilers and was a teammate of the Swiss Gaëtan Haas. Most recently, Cave was on the ice against Minnesota on February 21. Canadian was used primarily in AHL.
