Vettel and his scrap Ferrari: “I don’t know anymore”
If Pierre Gasly wins a Formula 1 GP at Alpha Tauri, the race must have been exceptional. That was the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. In addition to the first French winner, Carlos Sainz (McLaren) and Lance Stroll (Racing Point) had two other drivers on the podium that would not be expected there.

Lewis Hamilton initially seemed like the sure winner. But then the world champion made the mistake of changing tires too early – the pit lane had not yet been released when the race was neutralized due to the retirement of Kevin Magnussen. Hamilton’s punishment opened the way to the podium for the sensational trio. The British finally finished seventh.
Ferrari again no points
Scuderia Ferrari Tifosi lived another Sunday to forget. The cult Italian team did not reach the points after a double failure. Charles Leclerc retired after a driving error, while veteran Sebastian Vettel, however, again thwarted the plan with the car. The German ran at over 300 km / h through polystyrene signs posted at the edge of the track after brake problems suddenly occurred.

“I don’t know what to do at the moment,” said the frustrated witch. “You think it can’t get worse, but it can always get worse this year. It’s real … it sucks. “
After eight of the 17 planned world championship races, the four-time world champion can only be found in 13th place, a sixth place was Vettel’s most modest best result. Leclerc took the podium twice at the start of the season, but was knocked out twice in the last three Grands Prix and once ranked 14. Only sixth in the constructors’ championship for Ferrari is a disaster.
The end of the year is over
Last week at the Belgian GP, both Ferraris missed the championship points. That hadn’t happened in ten years before, and at least one “red” accountant always won the overall ranking.
Vettel only helps your situation with a seemingly uncompetitive car. To RTL, the Wahl-Thurgauer said sarcastically: “On Tuesday I’m sitting in the simulator. At least the car stops.”
Even before the start of the season, Ferrari and Vettel announced that the collaboration would end after this season. The future of the 33-year-old German is open, nothing is known of a new contract with another team. Goodbye to Formula 1 or a hiatus of a year are imaginable scenarios.
Ferrari has long cared only about being able to finish it with some dignity this season. Team boss Mattia Binotto spoke of a “bad ending to a difficult weekend” after the ruined Monza GP. But he wanted to cross this out quickly: “Now we have to look forward. We have to learn from that. This season will make us stronger. “(RAM)
