Former Vicar General of the Diocese of Lugano in police custody

AC (80), former vicar general of the diocese of Lugano TI and former professor of theology at the University of Lugano, was taken into police custody on Friday. The canton prosecutor’s and police office of the Canton of Ticino announced on Saturday night. The focus of the investigation is a 48-year-old foreigner.

The eighty-year-old is suspected of kidnapping, coercion and simple bodily injury. An investigation led by the Public Prosecutor’s Office aims to investigate the precise role of the prelate in relation to the presence of the foreigner without a residence permit in his apartment in Lugano.
