The blue Victorian building is just over a meter and a half wide. The problem: it is not so easy to get to the bedroom.

Just 1.6 meters wide and around eight meters long – London’s narrowest house is available for 1.2 million Swiss francs.

London’s narrowest house is for sale for a million euros: the building in the Shepherd’s Bush district, painted a striking blue, is only 1.6 meters wide on the ground floor. David Myers of Winkworth real estate agency praises the idiosyncratic house as part of the “magic of London” and wants the equivalent of 1.1 million euros for it.

In Victorian times, the building was a millinery. The old glass façade and a bowler-shaped lamp recall the past. The surprises behind the facade include the very different dimensions of the different floors. The narrowest floor is the ground floor with the kitchen.

It’s hard to get to the bedroom

Spiral stairs lead from the second floor, which has a bathroom and shower, to the bedroom on the third floor. However, this can only be achieved by means of a folding hatch. The house is suitable for a “young couple” or a “single person” who are inspired by “beauty,” says Myers.

When London’s narrowest house changed hands in 2006, the price was half as high. However, Myers is confident that he will get the requested amount, because the house is “elegant, beautiful and individual.”
