The Federal Yodelling Festival 2021 in Basel falls through the water
Now it’s final: there is no Federal Yodelling Festival in Basel. After it was postponed last summer, a second postponement is not possible.

(lpi / rwa) Until recently, organizers expected the vaccination strategy to work and that a large part of the population would be vaccinated by the end of June. But the situation cannot be expected to relax until June for the pebble festival to take place. Organizers announced this on Friday.
They had had 150,000 visitors. Therefore, decisive action must be taken now. Without the necessary planning security, it would be irresponsible to assume this financial risk, but also for health, the CO president, Carlo Conti, is quoted in the message.
Now those responsible for the Federal Yodelling Festival Basel 2021 have come to the conclusion that the current epidemiological situation does not allow to continue with the planning of the event.
No second turn possible
Actually, the 31st Federal Yodelling Festival in Basel should have taken place in June 2020. However, this was postponed for a year due to Corona. A new postponement is not possible, it says in the message. It would have been the first Federal Yodelling Festival in Basel since 1924. The next rolling song festival will take place in Zug in 2023.
