On Friday morning, shortly after midnight, the fire department emergency number received a report of a fire on a balcony at Bodenackerstrasse 6d in Sisseln. When the first emergency services arrived, a fire was found on a balcony on the eighth floor of the apartment building. Quick intervention by firefighters prevented the flames from spreading to other parts of the apartment building.
The resident was not at the scene at the time the fire broke out. No person was injured in the fire. However, the building and furnishings suffered material damage amounting to around CHF 10,000.00. In addition to the Sisslerfeld Fire Brigade and the Frick Base Fire Brigade, the Upper Fricktal Police and the Aargau Canton Police were on duty. The police of the canton of Aargau have launched investigations to clarify the cause of the fire. Based on initial findings, the fireworks that fell on the balcony are likely the cause of the fire.

If you have seen people launching fireworks in the immediate vicinity of the fire object or if you have been able to observe the trajectory of the pyrotechnic rockets, you will be asked to report to the Aargau canton police base in Frick (062 871 13 33).
