Ferrari star Sebastian Vettel makes his Sim Racing debut

Sebastian Vettel only registered late for the two “The Race” Legends Trophy races, which were held at the Sepang International Circuit and each completed more than eight laps. All the stars were in the Brabham BT44B cars and played in the game rFactor 2. Vettel has already won four times in real life in the previous Malaysian GP course, which was part of the World Cup calendar until 2017 (2010, 2011 , 2013 and 2015).

But in the virtual fight, the Ferrari star had to settle for humble places 15 and 12. The first victory of the race was for GP veteran Juan Pablo Montoya, who has already had some success in simulation racing. Vettel, who had qualified for position 15 on the grid, also crossed the finish line in place 15.

Former driver and owner of the Mexican team Adrián Fernández won the reverse grid race, while the 53-time GP winner had to settle for twelfth place. The second race for the four-time champion had started so promising. Starting at 7th on the grid, the 32-year-old benefited from an accident between Mika Salo, Vitantonio Liuzzi and Michel Jourdain and even advanced to 3rd position.

But a twist in the penultimate corner threw him back. After that, he was only able to limit the damage. 2009 world champion Jenson Button initially secured pole position with just 28 thousandths ahead of Emanuele Pirro, but in the first race he had to be satisfied with second place behind Montoya and ahead of Pirro. In race two, from position 20 on the grid, it was only enough for eighth place.
