The Federal Office of Public Health reported 4,946 new corona infections on Friday, so the number of new infections is declining again. The positivity rate also drops below 20 percent.
It seems that Switzerland has broken the trend, and with far fewer restrictive measures than our neighbors.
Not all clear in hospitals
Yet the hospitals are still full – 252 new patients had to be admitted on Thursday alone. The median age of hospitalized people is currently 74 years. About two-thirds of all crown patients in the hospital are 70 years or older.
And Switzerland also records an increase in deaths, 111 only on Thursday, most are over 80 years old and men.
Effects on the economy
At least in hospitals and nursing homes, there can be no doubt that everything is clear. Therefore, the crown measurements will likely hold for a while. And the economy feels it. Switzerland is in recession. But the economic data also looks less dramatic than abroad.
