The problem: Stocker still has a contract in Basel until 2021. He is captain and one of the service providers. FCB coach Ciriaco Sforza will not let the 31-year-old former Nati player go. It is also expensive. Not the transfer, but Stocker’s salary should cause headaches for those responsible in Lucerne. He earns around a million francs a year in Basel. A sum that cannot be paid in Lucerne. Blessing Eleke, who left the FCL for Belgium this summer, earned 300,000 net francs a year as one of the main sources of income. So the big question remains: Will Stocker, who lives in Lucerne, give up the money in order to return to central Switzerland? That remains to be seen.
Stocker played for SC Kriens for nine years in his youth before moving to FCL in 2005. For team Lucerne Fanion, however, he was never on the pitch, having signed with FC Basel when he was only 17 years old.
