A truck driver drove from Neuendorf on Dorfstrasse on Friday afternoon around 3:45 pm According to initial findings, he wanted to turn left on Fridaustrasse in the direction of Egerkingen, according to cantonal police.
In the intersection area, there was a collision with a motorcyclist traveling in the opposite direction for reasons that were not yet clear.
The motorcyclist was seriously injured. Despite immediate medical attention from an ambulance team and AAA’s additional Alpine Air Ambulance, the man succumbed to his injuries shortly after the accident. The truck driver was unhurt.
During the accident registration, all access roads to the accident site had to be closed for several hours. The Neuendorf and Härkingen fire departments established the detours. The Solothurn Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Solothurn Canton Police immediately launched an investigation.
