- A 68-year-old man was killed in a police raid in Suhr on Monday night. The Aargau canton police confirm this.
- The man’s partner had notified police after they threatened to kill themselves.
- The prosecutor has opened a case of intentional homicide against the policeman.
According to the Aargau canton police, a woman called the police on Monday night at 10:15 pm because her partner had made suicide threats. When two patrols arrived, the man was no longer in the apartment, but he could be found in the area.
There was a confrontation with the policemen. The man threatened them with a knife, which is why the police used the weapon. A policeman fired five shots. The police and the ambulance that immediately called were no longer able to revive the man.
The responsible prosecutor has opened a case of intentional homicide against the policeman. When the police fire a shot, it will be checked ex officio whether it was provided, said the Aargau Prosecutor’s Office. The investigation is being carried out by the Lucerne police.
The deceased is 68 years old, as the Aargau canton police spokesman said. The incident was first reported by a reader reporter on 20min.ch.
