Fähndrich falls and loses the podium

Everything was arranged, everything seemed perfect. But then Nadine Fähndrich’s hopes for the podium are dashed. What happened? On the last descent before the finish line in Münstertal, the Swiss is well placed in second place, but hesitates a bit. Slovenian Anamarija Lampic takes advantage of this and overtakes Fähndrich shortly before the curve to the right, touching her with her foot. The result? Faehndrich falls and is only sixth in the final, so last. Pure frustration.

“It’s a shame. It would have been more possible. But there are a lot of strong athletes in the beginning, there are fights, that’s often the good thing, but now it got me,” Fähndrich told SRF. That’s only part and that’s precisely why it is easier to work with him than if he were in bad condition, the victory finally goes to the Swede Linn Svahn.
