The frustration of the Portuguese last Saturday resulted in a donation in the five-digit range.
Cristiano Ronaldo was completely out of his mind last week. In the World Cup qualifying match against Serbia, the superstar slipped in the 93rd minute to what was supposed to be 3-2. The referee did not hit because the ball apparently did not cross the goal line completely.
An imposition for Ronaldo. As he entered the cockpit, the 35-year-old threw the captain’s armband to the ground in anger. Exactly this has now been auctioned for 64,000 euros (the equivalent of about 71,000 francs). An unknown bidder won the tender after a three-day online auction, Serbian state television reported on Friday.
The five-figure amount goes to a charity. The group claims to be raising money for the operation of a 6-month-old boy with muscle loss. He had received Ronaldo’s dark blue bracelet marked “C” after the World Cup qualifying game from a stadium worker.
